I'm another title
Our friends from Duct-Ties and Zip-Tape are a community team from the Acworth, Georgia Area. They've hosted end-of-year and pre-season parties for local teams that are a BLAST! We look forward to seeing them every time we see them listed as competing - they're great people!
Dodgen Robotics is a FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) Team comprised of students from Dodgen Middle School in Marietta, GA. They have run scrimmages for the past two years that have helped other Georgia FTC teams get ready for qualifier matches.
Many former Rockin' Robots have graduated from Faith Lutheran and gone into the STEM Magnet Program at Wheeler High School which plays home to the Circuit Runners FTC Team. Last season two of the Circuit Runners have lent a hand when we were running up against time limits because we were an alternate to go to SuperRegionals. We really appreciate our old teammates coming back to lend a hand!
The Darlington School in Rome, Georgia hosts two FTC teams - each are called DarBots. DarBots 2 (5100) were one of our Alliance Partners in the 2013-14 season when we were Captain of the Finalist Alliance. This season we reviewed the qualifier performance and decided that we needed to design a new part to guide balls into the tube with a straight down drop if possible. We started with a DarBots design for guiding balls from the competition and adjusted it so that the circle on the end is open thereby minimizing any chance of accidentally touching the tubes.
We have been very fortunate that other teams in Georgia have shown Gracious Professionalism to us on many occassions. From simple things like sharing a part to more elaborate assistance like spending a day with our team helping us improve our notebook. Here are several of those teams with links to their websites.
Eagle Robotic stepped up this year at the last minute and hosted the Georgia State Championship at their school - talk about Gracious Professionalistm! Their website says this about them: "One of the reasons we like the FIRST organization so much is that it embraces our ideal of service to others. We consider the chance to serve others both a privilege and a command to be followed. We teach our team members that we do what we do in this area, not to be noticed, or to win a prize, but because our Lord calls us to a life of humility and service." As a fellow Christian school team we really appreciate their walking the walk.
Team Ctrl-Alt-Del is a community-based FIRST® Tech Challenge youth robotics team based in Johns Creek, Georgia. Team members live in Johns Creek, Duluth, and Dunwoody, Georgia. Ctrl-Alt-Delete earned a spot at the South Super-Regional Championships this season by winning the Motivate Award at the state championship. Unfortunately they were unable to attend. This opened a slot for our team to go as an alternate. We're sorry Ctrl-Alt-Delete couldn't go to Super-Regionals but appreciate the opportunity to go in their place. Thanks.
RoBUGS (RoBots Under God) is a fifth year FTC robotics team from McDonough, Georgia that strives to help others and pursues perfection. As a community team they have no school support. They have won the Inspire Award for the past two years at the Georgia State Championship.
Latrodectus Mactans (5120) is a veteran all-girls FTC team located in Roswell Georgia. They each have diverse backgrounds, but unite to build towards common tasks.
LED is two Georgia FTC robotics teams from Marietta, Georgia. A melting pot of kids is the best way to describe them. Most of them are home schoolers, and they come from all different backgrounds. They have an amazing, dedicated coach and some really cool college mentors! They were one of our Alliance Partners in the 2013-14 season when we were Captain of the Finalist Alliance.
Georgia FTC Teams
CougarBots is an FTC robotics team that started in 2013. Team members attend Henderson Middle School or Lakeside High School in Dekalb County, Georgia. They have enjoyed robotics on FLL teams for several years and are excited about the new challenges and more advanced robotics provided by FTC. We appreciate their shooting video of our matches and making those videos available via YouTube!
CyberStingers Gold were one of our partners at the Wheeler Qualifier last season in the Semi-Finals. They went on to win the Motivate Award at the qualifer.
Cronos, Blessed Trinity HS, was a rookie team for the 2015-16 season and includes Rob from the Rockin' Robots. They're located in Roswell, GA and have seven 9th graders on the team and Rob and another 10th grader this season.
INSPIREinators are a rookie team from Americus, Georgia. They choose us to be their Alliance Partners at the Douglas County Qualifer this season.
Firebirds are our friends from Douglasville. They field both an FTC and an FLL team and they've been a part of FIRST for 6 years. Their Steam Punk theme is very cool and we're always glad to see them at events.
